My interest in the fibre arts surfaced in 2014 when I was guiding preschool children in knitting and embroidery activities. The children... and I were drawn in to the handwork of manipulating threads.
I followed my curiosity further and pursued a Fibre Arts Certificate in 2015 at Haliburton School of the Art and Design in Ontario, Canada. This is where I fell in love with the process of weaving on a loom. After graduating, I bought my own floor loom and continued to explore the art of weaving.
In 2016, I started my home weaving studio, Gently Woven, where I weave functional pieces for the home using natural fibres. In 2018 I began spinning linen and wool yarns, with hopes of weaving with them into my work in the future.
I still continue my work in education where I share my love of the fibre arts with the children.
